Ram Air Canopy Course

A static line attached to the aircraft automatically opens the parachute on exit. You then descend from 3000ft under a Ram-Air steerable canopy. Prior training consists of a minimum of 6 hrs instruction in aspects such as familiarisation of equipment, aircraft exits, canopy steering and parachute landing falls (PLF'S).

Maximum weight limit: Males 16 stones (101kg) Females 13(82.5kg) clothed.

The use of the ram air system (raps i.e.Ram Air Progressive System) is a comparatively recent innovation using the latest technology in canopy design and students may progress on to Freefall while using this system. This course is the more popular of the three.
